I've recently asked Stepchange to end my DMP I've got a few remaining debts one with Virgin balance is 4,273. I've offered them £1,700 as a settlement and they've declined a few months back they've contacted me again and I've offered £2k, they said they'll review in 10 days, I'm asking if anyone has experience with them and what if any partial payment they accepted.
Seemingly they wont provide any offer just a payment plan, any advice appreciated

are they offering a discount without asking for a SAO, if so that's good, cos if they see you still have the same type of money excess per month available that you were giving step change, then you have to ask yourself if they know that , then maybe they will prefer to just get close to it all back you owe. in a repayment plan.
sometimes you have to tell them a change has happened, such as a drop in hours at work or unemployment, so it puts the ball in your court to encourage them to scrap a repayment plan and accept any fair lump sum.
a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush type thinking imo.Christians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed. Give them a call !! ( You don't have to be a Christian ! )

Most companies will agree small discounts on a debt, but the best deals are obtained once a debt is sold on to a 3rd party.
The kind of settlement you are offering will not be acceptable to Virgin, but to a debt purchaser, maybe.
Why not just wait and let them sell the debt on, then see who picks it up and then make an offer after they have sent you there standard collection letters.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
