New Year - Same Resolution as previous years!

Well.. for the past 3 years my New Years Resolution has always been to be debt free by the time I'm 30.
Considering that I really only had my official light bulb moment this year and I am 30 in 18 months time!!!! I'm not sure that this resolution is realistic - unless I have a 'win' or some great windfall of money...
But... should I keep my resolution the same?? Will it spur me on to try and reduce my current debt free date which at the moment is November 2013 or shall I just GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!
And do lots of extras..

2. Mystery Shopping
3. Really build my online business
How realistic am I being? I'd love your thoughts...

Well I think over the next couple of days I'm going to work out my plan of action.
If I tried to do it in time for me being 30 I would need to pay off at least 4K per month which I know I haven't got - however that doesn't mean to say I can't make great headway.
I've always said I wanted to do it - so I'm going to give it my best shot!
Camelot or Gala - I'd like my numbers to come up - thank you (in advance!)

Well you've paid alot in 18mths which is amazing! So you've now got another 18 mths to better that.
How about setting yourself a more achieveable goal like paying half the debt by the time you are 30 or another percentage??
But you never know a lot can happen in 18 mths and your numbers may come up

Thanks Keeping Motivated - sometimes you need someone to make you realise just what you have achieved during that time!
I really like your idea of bettering what I paid during the last 18 months - If I continue to pay my DMP at the rate it is now (not increasing it) I will pay off: £21,582 - which is slightly less but at least I'm not borrowing more and robbing peter to pay paul and its finally coming off the amount.
I think I'm going to aim to get my total debt to start with a 4 (instead of an 8) by the time I'm 30! - Even if I only get to £49,999.99 it's still there and it means I need to pay off around £33K
Ok that's my target!!!0 -
Good for you, I'll be watching your progress with interest, it really helps to motivate me when I see people working so hard to better their situations.
Just think if you hadn't started this journey 18mths ago you could be in more debt now or even worse..
Not only has it not gone up but you have paid a massive £23,410.00!!!
P.S loving the 'start with a 4' idea.
Good luck0
