Deed of Appropriation bare trustees

in Cutting tax
A property which increased in value after probate was subject to a Deed of Appropriation to pass the tax liability from the estate to the beneficiaries. The Capital Gains Tax form asks for the date ownership was passed to the beneficiaries. It was never registered in their names. Is it the date of the DofA? Also, can the costs of clearing the property be offset? Unfortunately a trauma clean team was needed so was quite expensive.

I believe it will be the date of death. No you can’t claim the cleaning costs.1
