Tesco debt using Lowell debt collector address

my Tesco credit card debt has never been sold on by them, nor stated the collection  is been done by a debt collector.
I had a query, I wrote to them  at po box 342 Newcastle NE12 2gd.

 i got a letter today saying hi, just checking in, are you comfortable to make a payment. with Tesco details and Tesco address 

but on the envelope  the address was po box 189 Huddersfield hd8 1dy., I did a Google search and it showed lowell debt collectors

Tesco have never informed me that my debt will/ has been collected by lowell debt collectors and to deal with them, I've seen this postcode many times in the past on envelopes on replies when ever I wrote to Tesco with a query , but never paid much attention to it.

yes brie in the middle of dealing with christians against poverty doing a solution. but I was wondering if Tesco are using a debt collection company even though they never said they were to me. perhaps my post may help others who have debts with Tesco bank

I had a loan with Tesco bank yes default but went to westcot to collect money, Tesco still own loan and have not to date sold it.

Lowell don't collect on behalf of anyone else.

Once Lowell purchases a debt from another company, they are the legal owners of it and the outstanding balance is owed to them.

Maybe the PO box address is just the mailing house they use? That is the address on the back of Lowell envelopes but their actual address is P.O. Box 13079, Harlow, CM20 9TE. My Tesco debt was sold to Westcot

Tesco has announced the sale of most of its banking arm to Barclays in a deal worth up to £1bn. The UK's largest retailer, which had been in discussions with other major lenders including HSBC and Lloyds over a deal, said all 2,800 staff at Tesco Bank would transfer to Barclays under the agreement over time.

I suspect the new owner sold the debt.
