Morning everyone and thank you for starting us off Gers - I was beginning to wonder where everyone was.
It's a lovely morning here and I will be off to vote this morning.
Hope you all have good day. x7 -
Morning all. Hope you've gone to make your coffee Gers
A quieter few days ahead now. I've booked to have my hair cut this morning then we are having our main meal as a late lunch as DH is going out late afternoon for the rest of the day.
I'll strip the bed in a while; already have one load of washing on the line. Probably be watching tennis and doing music practice later.
Best wishes to all.8 -
Morning! Hows your toe Gers? I'm orf out to see a friend for lunch in a local caff. The first time I went there with a friend we both walked out after twenty minutes of being ignored. Since then, they have changed their method of ordering, so now you hold up a sign saying you want to order which saves a lot fo misunderstandings, so third time lucky today [ we were lucky second time as well but it doesnt trip off the tongue the same way does it? ] after that i think I'll start emptying the little dresser ready for it to go in front of the fire. The microwave can be given away I think, I only ever use it to warm tea that's gone cold up. Tomorrow morning I'm out to visit a gowing place, so prbably won't be around tomorrow so hopefully everyone has a good day or two, not flinging themselves around getting balck eyes [ looking at you Izzy] or various other injurious things [looking at you Gers]

Morning folks and thanks GERS. It was total blue sky and sun when I got up. Now it's total cloud cover and the wind is getting up as was forecast. Will summer ever come back!
Boring Thursday as usual. Postal vote sent off last week so no need to venture out and get blown away. Instead I will have fun cleaning the kitchen and bathroom as a head start of the Friday Tidy. The phantom freezer messer upper has been at it again so need to sort them both out and get something out for my dinner whilst I am at it. Then probably some tennis watching later.
Well I met my DF as planned yesterday for lunch and what a debacle it ended up! We had just ordered our lunch and enjoying a glass of vino when the fire alarm started and everyone was ushered outside. Some unfortunates were already eating and their lunches got left on their table. Once back inside our lunches duly arrived and what good timing it was as we had just finished eating when the alarm went off again and everyone was back outside again! For even longer this time.so more half eaten lunches were left on tables going cold. Back inside again and the alarm went off twice more but at least not ushered outside again. In among all the comings and goings we had a good catch up and DF offloaded her worries about her DH. He has a phone appt with his GP today but she has no high hopes of anything coming off it. Her life is like living with a time bomb, his MH is so unpredictable.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones or fed up. Take care all and be safe xx

Yes, had another shot of coffee. We're very sparse this morning, perhaps everyone is staying in bed away from the horrendous weather. It's as if we are back in winter here, last night the wind all of a sudden rose to almost gale strength and then the rain came and battered the house. During the day it was cold so I tried the burning one log at a time thing which worked really well, I didn't get too hot at all, just comfortable.Yesterday I decided to make the journey to Germany for my cousin's 70th birthday after all. There's no point in creating a fracture in our family at this late stage of our lives and I can't make anyone behave the way I'd like (i.e. remembering my birthday) so, off I am going in late August. To sweeten the pill my eldest nephew is coming along too. He's excited to meet this branch of us as he'd had no contact with them, but that's a long story. Now that I've made the decision I'm content with it, I would have stewed and stewed if I had not gone. The weather will probably keep me indoors today. Second half of the Stalker Pie to eat, it was very tasty if rather dry after a year in the freezer, but then again it is made with venison which tends to be dry anyway. My postal vote went in last week, hope that everyone has a lovely day, haircuts, visitors, voting, gardening, slobbing - it's all good.8

Morning everyone
It's sunny but windy here this morning, with showers forecast. At the minute sports day is still going ahead, I hope so.
I had a nice afternoon yesterday, a mix of pottering and reading. DD is picking little kitten up this morning, she'll be back on Sunday as DD and little one are going to Butlins at Skegness for a week. They both really need it, after the last couple of weeks of little one being so poorly. She'll be back at school for the last few days.
TA - what a carry-on, at least you and your friend managed to get lunch eaten.
I've a few jobs to do then I'll go to vote, before I go down to work. My polling station is only a few minutes walk away.
Hope everyone has a good day today x8 -
Good morning all
Thank you for the start Gers
Bright and sunny.
Going to the walk and talk this morning, feeling a bit anxious but at least I know where I'm going.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.7 -
Morning all
Thanks for those that have already posted - think I skipped yesterday......no idea why.
Driving DF to his pre-op at lunchtime then need to try and mow the lawn while it is dry. I'm counting votes overnight so will try and squeeze in a nap at some point! Haven't done an overnight one, nor a general election count before so fingers crossed it goes smoothly. I've got my cushion at the ready.....the chairs are hard plus the tables are quite high and I find I get aching shoulders unless I have my booster cushion with me
Have a good day all

Morning all, thanks Gers. I've been missing, yesterday I had to go over to DS2s to stay with DGD who was off school. She was under a blanket when I got there so I ended up doing some washing, it dried on the line, then tidied a bit.Today I have DGS here at home, so a quick post from me - his school is being used as a voting station. He's brought his football, but the weather is very mixed with the very strong wind,rain,sun- you get the picture. He's had a go on the front lawn practising ball skills and is now playing on the play station.Probably sausage and mash later. Take care all:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)6
