    What does the MSE affordability checker say?

    I wonder if you're being declined because the loan amount is too small. I remember there being a threshold with my bank at £7500 where you got a much better rate, to the point it was cheaper for me to borrow £7500 than £6000. If you do borrow more than you need, then I strongly recommend making an immediate overpayment back to the loan and not spending it.

    IMO the amount is irrelevant - a decline is a decline - asking for more (or less) will not change that.
