The framework in England is called the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and qualifications in this framework are regulated by Ofqual. In Wales it is the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales (CQFW) and qualifications are regulated by Qualifications Wales.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -

To elaborate on my question. I am considering doing a qualification relevant to my work with the Skills Network. I love in Scotland, and have been advised that these are aligned to the English qualification system and are not recognised specifically by the SQA. My question is in completing this will I have an EngiIsh qualification record, or will it simply be a certificate issued by the awarding examination board?0

Asking the relevant examining board if you can't find the answer on google seems to be your best bet.Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!2

'English' awarding bodies do provide ways of verifying qualifications, a number of more recent vocational / professional qualifications i've got have a QR on the certificate and/or Transcript that takes you to the Awarding bodies site .
the other 'difficulty' although it is very minor is just to remind / make aware that the English system and the Scots system have different starting points ( i.e. Scots 1 , 2 and 3 are the Entry level Qualifications in England and English level 1 ( CSE 2 -5 / GCSE D-G/ NVQ 1 ) is SQA 4 ...1 -
Who are you doing the qualification for? Potential employers? Do you think they care more whether SQA recognises the qualification or that you've done the course?0
