Today can only be described as disappointing, it's very grey outside. No rain yet. When I left Glasgow yesterday the rain was so heavy I got soaked walking 100 yards. Thankfully it cleared up by the time I reached home. The chimney sweep came in the afternoon, he's a cheerful chap who has been coming for years. He gave me some great advice about using the woodburner - only burn one log at a time as that way the heat can be better controlled. Add another log when the first one is almost done. Piling in lots of logs just throws out too much heat. I'm going to try that next time I use it as I get far too hot. We'll see.The only planned activity today is a meeting in the evening, with a bit of luck it won't drone on too long. I hope that everyone has a good day.10

Morning allIf I wake up any earlier there won't be much point in going to bed at the moment!Going for a walk later as my knees seem to be less painful at the moment. Looks cloudy and windy out there and the forecast isn't showing any sun today :-(Not alot going on apart from that but I've had a request to make some cupcakes so will do that this afternoon and freeze them for DS's partner's son's birthday party in a week when he becomes a teenager! I'll decorate them on the day,Have a good day everyone x9

The weather has definitely regressed from last week - I had to wear two hoodies to walk Bdog yesterday and it doesn’t feel much warmer today.I have my last session opening postal votes - I don’t think there’ll be too many as I think there was a session yesterday so there’ll only be one days worth. Some shopping to do afterwards if there’s time plus a seemingly ever increasing lots of things to do before I go away on Saturday. Not a lot else to report - Hope everyone has a good day

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Can the weather get any worse! Yesterday I was so cold it was hard to believe it was the 1st July. The heated throw, which had been washed and put to bed for the summer, was back out last night!
DGD and her other gran duly arrived yesterday and her gran's eyes were out on stalks when she saw the amount of stuff piled (thrown) in my garage. They filled the boot and back seat to capacity with essentials - bedroom, bathroom and kitchen stuff - and it made little impression on the amount of stuff still out there. Fortunately bedding etc had been stored upstairs away from spiders and damp.. How long the rest will be out there is anybody's guess.
No plans for today so I will go with the flow. Probably a day of same old same old as I doubt I will get a better offer.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones or fed up. I hope it's now onwards and upwards for your little DGD now DP1. She has had more than her fair share of problems recently. Take care all, stay safe xx

Morning all
Looks to be a lovely day here nice and sunny, we are off to Devon later this afternoon and my sister sent a photo of them having a cuppa on the beach and they were all freezing must remember to take a coat !
Im working today but finish around 2 and then home to pack a last few bits and then off we aim to arrive around 6 depending on traffic it will be nice to get away for a few days, I went to Marks yesterday and got us a few bits dinner for tonight and breakfast etc for the next few days so at least we won’t have to rush out when we get there.
OH is going to give the dogs a good walk this morning so that they will hopefully sleep in the car and dd has to pack,it will be so nice to be away for a couple of days.
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all, we have a much better day than yesterday - dry! Sunny but a cool wind so the clouds are scudding across the sky. Thanks Gers, I might try telling DH about the 1 log rule for the log burner, he throws miles too much on & then I roast.I had a mild panic when coming back from the dog stroll across the road. A Mr T van parked outside, & as I had my delivery yesterday I did wonder whether I'd messed up somehow and booked it twice
Luckily my neighbour popped out, they usually get an order now and again but at weekend- guess the slots must have been taken.
We picked DGS up from school to take to his Dads, he was excited as his half sis DGD is staying with DS, he complains he doesn't see much of her now.We don't either tbh, she's growing up into a teenager! He ran upstairs to her room to be met with an unknown girl- she'd brought a schoolfriend home with her! Swiftly back downstairs and appeased by a croissant and a football programme he watches on net flix.We need to get over to my DB1s at some point today as it is SiL birthday tomorrow- we would have gone last night but there was no-one in when I checked. I had a visit from DB2 yesterday which was nice, not seen him for nearly a month. The kitchen needs a good tidy today , and I need to make a loaf, and sort the freezers out, can't find anything! I might make a beef stew in the instant pot- it's still out on the worktop from doing some mince yesterday - back to winter like meals. TA ,got to admit I've been tempted by the thought of my heated throw too!Hope you all have a good day.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone
Redruby hope you enjoy your trip x
I had a nice chat with eldest DD in Germany last night, she's very busy at work just now.
It's forecast to be showery all week here, hopefully it will be ok for Sports Day on Thursday afternoon and hopefully little one will be ok to join in.
She's going to school for the full day today. DD isn't at work until Friday night now so she's just round the corner if school needs her.
I picked some more strawberries at nursery yesterday - I pick and the children eat - we're up to 25 red strawberries now! As soon as I go through the gate they want me to look to see if any more have ripened overnight.
I've a few jobs to do this morning and then work at lunchtime. Hope you all have a good day today x

Hi everyone,
It's another quiet day here, the family have gone on from Glastonbury to Wales and won't be back until Sunday. I was just sitting here thinking about my normal Tuesday routine with Esther toddling round the place. We may be going up to Yorkshire next week so we'll be missing them again.
I went for coffee with my two friends yesterday, we tried out a new place on an ex-stud farm. It was very nice apart from the flies buzzing around, when we asked the server about them he said that they had a chicken farm next door so that was a bit off-putting. All the food was covered though so there were no worries about that.
Steve is golfing and I want to continue going round the windows, I started yesterday because when I opened them during the hot weather I noticed how black they had become where they joined the frame.
Have a good day.6 -
Morning all! Windy and dul but that's ok, I'm house doings today. I moved the food and consolidated two bookcases into one with it, need to move another bookcase for the saucepans and cooking equipment [ my kitchenalia obsession has come home to roost] Still need to empty the little freezer so some tetris is going to be involved today and probably a slow cook of some beef ribs to go with mash or something for Thursday [ well, it IS a bit colder today
] Tonight is the rest of the turkish bread - verdict from OH, fabulous - made into a kind of pizza with the rest of the kofte broken up on top. And we're off to his mums tomorrow night. So my next few days are busy with doings, and then we can panic about emptying the garage.
dp1, glad she's a bit better. Gers, sounds amazing watching men be all full of tree chopping prowess, shame about the weather though..I only burn one at a time when the fire has properly caught, I ait until the one is completely glowing, then smash it down and set the next one on top. It did take me four years to realise I was using the air vents in the wrong order though! doh! Ruby, have a lovely time. Rosy, your beef stew inspired my beef ribssnoozer, I used to hate cleaning windows because they always ended up streaky or I'd miss bits. When the window fitters left [the ifrst ime] they gave me a big tin of some professional stuff and now there is no fear and the windows are clean again
Take care all, hope the weather isn'ttoo terrible for you all...

Morning everyone I’ve just got back in from a cleaning job it’s cloudy I have no idea what it’s going to do the rest of the day . Gers my chimney sweep told me we don’t need to keep the log burner on through the night when I said to him it took ages for the room to heat up because it’s a big room with high ceiling he said pop the heating on for ten minutes then the fan is blowing warm air around not cold it will be quicker to warm the room which makes sense Taff I beat you it only took us two years to learn how to use the air vents properly. DP1 I’m pleased to hear the little one is improving I will keep everything crossed she makes the sports day . Snoozer there’s a lovely farm shop with a cafe near us but you have to walk past the cow Byers to get to it and the smell turns my stomach you can’t smell anything in the cafe but I don’t feel like eating anything once I get in . Ruby enjoy Devon it’s a long time since I went but I do remember it been lovely although anywhere is nice to get away . Well I’m go To do my Joe Wicks then a good dog walk I made the mistake of doing it yesterday and we had three dogs in the house one was running about like a lunatic thinking it was a game one kept banging a soft toy of my legs and one hid behind the door wondering what the hell was going on . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing7
