New build house - council tax band

We moved into our property in 2018 on a plot of around 50 houses on an old brownfield site. Surrounding us is large farmers fields with the nearest houses over a mile away.

When looking to contest the council tax banding (we're in C but for the checks we've done so far with Nationwide search and others its coming back saying we should be in B) how do we go about giving evidence of similar properties nearby when the house we are in was a new build and the nearest properties aren't in the same street?

If you mean Band B, NW and other house price calculators are generally inaccurate. If all the houses of your type on the estate are also Band C, you have no alternative but to look at houses a mile away

If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

    B + ) = the emoticon shortcut B)

I'd suggest the Valuations Office Agency get new builds spot on when banding them as they do a pile on the Development all at once based on the information available via Planning...

New builds likely rent for more than a decrepit equivalent nearby.

If your housing estate was built all at a similar time, it will make sense that were banded together. You can look at other nearby estates, like the one a mile away, the closer properties better and the more comparable the better. It might get argued that certain estates are more or less desirable for x reason.

Have a look on google maps to see what properties you can see around your estate.
