in Cutting tax
I did my self-assessment as I thought I had overpaid tax through PAYE and indeed the calculation came back with a tax refund. However, I just realised that I didn't get my P11d yet (deadline is 7th July) so the refund would actually be smaller as I got some taxable benefits.
What should I do now? Do I need to edit my self-assessment once I get the P11d? Or will HMRC sort it out themselves?

You should amend the return as soon as you get the P11d.
If you leave it for HMRC to find out, you will not only have further tax to pay but also penalties for making an incorrect return.

It's straightforward to amend/resubmit. I had to do mine - used provisional figures on 6 April and was a whole £1 out when I got my p11d - took barely 2-3 minutes.
