Small shortfall in Pension Benefit...
LULULU1
My pension is due in 2029 but I am now retired.
My maximum pension is £221.20 per week and my current estimate is £218.71 per week.
I am 62 and have full national insurance payments paid but was opted out by my company Royal Mail.
My question is how do I make up this small shortfall if possible.
Many thanks

You pay 1 year of class 3 voluntary contributions. The price will be shown in your NI record, only years 2016-17 and later will count so look for the cheapest there. You may be able to check and pay on line through your personal tax account.

Another potential option that may be available if by any chance you look after grandchildren while parents work is to claim childcare creditsmolerat said:You pay 1 year of class 3 voluntary contributions.
Apply for Specified Adult Childcare credits - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
