Transfer of Part Plan

Hi,
I've agreed with my neighbours to purchase part of their garden but I have very little idea what's required so would be grateful for any advice. As I made the offer, I've been trying to arrange and pay for everything that has been required.
My solicitors have now told me (weeks in!) that I need a plan for the transfer of part, but this seems to be proving difficult.
I have LR titles/plans for both properties which date from the 60s. They don't include the neighbours house which wasn't yet built but do show the land quite clearly. We engaged a surveyor to produce a plan which has been drawn from a much more modern OS map. Is this likely to be a problem with the land registry? The newer map is obviously more accurate but the boundaries from the original are still clear.
I realise this should probably be a question for my solicitor but getting any concrete information from them is like pulling teeth. I would have thought this was bread and butter stuff in this profession but we also found it surprisingly difficult to find a surveyor who could offer this service.
If anyone can offer guidance I'd be most grateful!
Thanks,
Sam
