Solaredge with Home Assistant

Hi,
I think I've seen at least one reference on here from people using Home Assistant to tweak their Solaredge. I'd be interested in any pointers, and maybe in sharing ideas if I get things running.
Where I am at the moment is I have HA running on a Raspberry Pi, and have installed and configured the "Solaredge Modbus Multi" integration. HA now reads all the data. I've only dabbled carefully with changing values, with mixed success. For example if I change Site Export Limit, it stays changed and I can see it taking effect. If I change "Backup Reserve" then after a few minutes it resets back to zero.
My goal here is to set up something to deal with over subscription, when PV power exceeds inverter output and/or export limit.
Thanks

I'd heard of predbat. Right now I've got my HA monitoring whilst I get all sorted, but by end of year I would be looking to use something like that to maximise agile.

I use it but I don't get a great benefit as I'm not on Agile. I just allow it to charge the battery overnight (OIG) depending on the anticipated solar production. Saves me having to make the decisions.

Thanks. I had a little play again today, setting Storage Control Mode to "Remote Control" and checking that selecting different Storage Comand Mode settings actually take effect. They do.
It's a shame Solaredge documentation for these various modes is a bit sketchy, meaning trial and observation is needed. So first stage now I have remote control working is to confirm exactly how each mode works, then try to think of trigger conditions to automate appropriate changes.0 -
A bit more experimenting. Of the advanced modes "Discharge to maximize export" works exactly the same as Manual with a discharge schedule set from the app. Not stated by SE but both will charge from clipped solar.
Possibly more useful is "Discharge to minimize import" which also charges from clipped solar (again not mentioned by SE)
It's looking like a combination of those two might do what I want, maybe switching based on battery %age.0
