I have received dental treatment in the past which i have paid for myself . I reached SP age last February but i have not yet claimed my SP yet as i have been able to keep on working i am going to need a new denture fitted sometime in the next few months
My question is as i am SP age do i still have to pay for it or is it on the NHS ?

There is no entitlement to free dental care above state pension age.The only age related change seems to be in Wales where you get free check ups from 60.

Yes, you still pay either via the NHS or private.2

It's definitely worth looking into, as it could save you a significant amount of money on your new denture. Have you contacted your local dental practice to inquire about their payment plans or if they offer any financial assistance? Some practices might be able to help you spread the cost of treatment.

Just being on State Pension doesn't give you free NHS dental treatment. It hasn't done for a few decades now. If you have some other benefits on top of SP, then one of them might qualify you for free NHS dental treatment. How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.1
