I have been left house bound due to vision express. As they done my right lens wrong and just gave me refund. After numerous complaints and numerous phone calls from them saying on order, on order, sorry Mrs???the lab done your lens wrong. Then trying to put oval lenses in round frame didn't work so the lab has shrunk lens in sight glasses and can't see outta of them. As had one optromitist done prescription wrong and another one said I had first stages of cataracts in both eyes. Then both optometrists got my axises wrong. Got a phone call saying refund in store to pick up my husband had to pick it up. As I have astigmatism and high complex prescription. Can't see to do anything. Now of no fault if my own I'm stuck house bound. Been to Dr and going refer me eventually to eye hospital. Been like this since end of march. Now gotta wait month to go to eye hospital to see specialist. I don't get benefits or any help. Now I'm stuck. Anyone able to give me help or advice?. Thanks 👍

I am not sure if I am understanding this correctly, but there were problems with the prescription spectacles that you ordered, and they are either unable to fill the prescription for some reason, or you have decided that you don't want them to? In either case, they have refunded you, so that matter is finished?

You now have a month to wait to see an eye specialist, which given the state of the NHS is really fast.

I am unclear what you want now? Or why not getting benefits is relevant? Could you explain what you are thinking?

Why can't you go to a different opticians rather than wait for the eye hospital appointment?
  • I'm also unsure of what sort of advice you are seeking.

Do you still have the spectacles you had before the issues with Vision Express?

If so, could you seek the medical advice of your GP to establish whether it's safe to use those until your appointment with the eye specialist?

Go to another opticians?  Why have you waited for two and a half months?

I know they get criticised on this forum sometimes but I've always found Specsavers to be excellent.

There are also other independent and franchised high street opticians
