I kept my NatWest student account for years until they changed the branch details from Liverpool University branch to Regional Cheque Centre. Those cheques used to get me lots of kudos!sheilavw said:I remember until quite recently my Nat West cheques had pictures of birds on them! I still use a cheque to pay my milkman, he puts a bill through about once a month (I only get 3 pints a week) and I put a cheque in an envelope in the empty bottle. I also pay my ground rent twice a year by cheque which I post off2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I'd forgotten about that until I read your comment. I remember when it first started happening at a big Sainsby's that I used to shop at and it was always catching me out. Either I'd hand write most of the cheque while I was in the checkout queue or I'd forget to fill in the counterfoil with the amount and then have to scrabble about in my bags to find the receipt. Then they went over to debit card payments quite quickly after that I think which was a whole new ball game and that caught out lots of people who kept forgetting to bring them to the shop or couldn't remember their PIN number and all that sort of thing.sheilavw said:I remember hand writing cheques in Sainsburys, then at some point I just needed to sign because they printed them in a machine2
