The drive home yesterday was much more pleasant than Sunday and I made good progress. I did a little bit of shopping in Glasgow then got my favourite sandwich at an Italian cafe, it's such a rare treat these days. The only hold-up was an extremely slow moving ancient motor home which glided through Inveraray at 12 mph 😱 it eventually pulled into a lay-by.My hotel in Hexham was so lovely, it made a great change from the chains I usually find myself in, I'm now hoping to go back one day if the chance comes up. Now it's back to 'old clothes and porridge'. No plans for today as I'm still a bit tired even though I slept long and well.I hope that everyone is doing well, I haven't read back yet.9

Pleased you made it home safe Gers that sounds like my life old clothes and porridge in fact I put a fleece I normally pull on in the bin the other day for shame’s sake in my defense I’m always cold so I’m always looking for another layer to put on . Morning all. The sun's out in the back so I've left the curtains closed for now - makes a change!
Today I'm going to my much postponed dental appointment to have my crown fitted. I'll be careful what I eat for the rest of the day until it's settled in.
Would you believe that yesterday DH and I cleaned the inside of all the windows? Goodness knows when we last did that but, now the sun's shining, I can see some streaky bits so might have to sort that out. I also made a lemon cake to share with someone tonight so will portion that up later and picked up a 2nd hand walker toy for DGS from a local lady.
Wishing everyone a good day.

Morning Gers and all to follow
It feels a bit cold and overcast here this morning with a chill in the air, I have just put the last of the holiday clothes in the wash so they can go on the line later.
Two folk coming today and I think we are going to an old stately home for a walk around the gardens and a picnic I’m sure they will want to visit the tearooms as well, no Rob today though as he needs to be 48 hrs off now.
Dinner tonight I think will be Greek salad and a few tiny Greek pastries which I got in Lidl during Greek week they have been in the freezer for a while so need using up.
DD is off today so she will walk the dogs later.
I have some new Birkenstocks being delivered today as my old faithful ones which I have had for about 10 years are finally giving up so bought a pair to replace them they are the most comfy sandals and I wear them all summer.
Gers glad you had a nice time away xx
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
Morning all, drizzle again, similar start to yesterday but it ended up being a glorious afternoon so hope it's the same today.Gers sounds like you really enjoyed your trip.Fridge and cupboards are a bit better stocked now after my T delivery- seemed to take ages to put away, especially with a lot of tetris in the fridgeWe set off early to pick DGS up so I could return a book he borrowed from the little library near school. He was telling us about a writing task he had to do at school, all about Victorian life and the local cotton mills, where a poor young lad his age got caught up in the machinery and died- it certainly made him think as the boy was 10 like him
Floss that's an enormous hike in insurance! - we're having a 2 week break from his football
. DGD's finished a couple of weeks ago but the boys coach keeps entering them into summer tournaments! Next season they step up to 9 players from 7 this time so they'll need to get used to that. We enjoy it though, and it's a really friendly group of families
Enjoy your stay at the caravan TA.I was thinking about going out as Tuesday is the only day I def don't have to pick up from school, but then you look at the weather and lethargy sets in ...We were quite late back from DS2s so ended up chopping the pork fillet into small strips & frying with a frozen stir fry veg mix and a sachet of satay sauce. I was trying to get his new printer to connect to the wifi but failed, he'd already tried & I was at it for ages. The instructions were minimal! Time for the big guns to look, techie DS1Need to look in the fridge for tea, can't even remember what I bought!Have the best day you can all:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning! There is sun today...it started yesterday about ten ish and didn't stop and the tip guy said it was in for two weeks. Who am I to disbelieve? Heavy hoodie off, t shirty thing on...Did a tip run yesterday, managed to avoid any injuries by asking for some help to slide a big concrete slab into the bin, lovely bloke did it for me after I'd walked it across to the bin [ 4ft by 2 and a half foot thing with rebar and all sorts , god knows what they were using it for because it was also bent in the middle]. Today a frend is coming round at ten ish for tea and gossip, the rest of the day can be filled in with whatever. We finally agreed on a design for the new goth box and now we just have to agree on size so at least we can order some wood for it by the end of the week. OH is currently off work with his favourite pile making a comeback, so intermittent posting is on the cards, when he's up first, it's computer games all day...not complaining, I usually have control of it so fair's fair innit.Gers, sounds like a nice trip, many more impromptu sanwiches for you though because when you find quality, you've got to stick to it! Izzy, can you have a word with OH about his t-shirts then please?
TA, hope it's sunny for you at the van..Nanny, hope you're managing to catch some rest. Bella, hope all is well with you. Take care all, hope the weather is kind to you...

Morning everyone
Florenceem when I looked at the forecast before I got up it said light showers, 2 minutes later it was chucking it down! Meant to be sunny this afternoon..will wait and see.
Eldest DD loved the Taylor Swift concert on Friday night - I got a text saying it was her best night ever when it finished. She stayed overnight in Liverpool and got back here early afternoon. Little one was here for a short while and was very excited.
Lovely chippy tea, the fish were huge and then I watched lots...and lots...of videos of the concert. Little one was here at 7.30 on Sunday morning, so she sat in bed with DD and watched and sang along to the songs she knew. Down to mam and dads for a cuppa - dads face was a picture, he was so happy to see DD. Then a lazy day little one went home about 3.30 and DD and I had lasagne for tea, her request ,and we watched the new episodes of Bridgerton together....she has Netflix I don't.
She left for the train to Edinburgh just before I left for work yesterday and got back to Nuremberg about 10.30 last night - I'll see her again when I go in August. It was a really nice weekend.
I don't know if I mentioned it, but the weekend before I took little one to Lilidorei at Alnwick - it was a brilliant place little one loved it - we were there 5 hours and little one still grumbled when we had to leave. Definite recommendation for anyone coming here with children, though quite expensive. I got a carers ticket which halved the price.
Well I'm waffling , I'd better get organised as I'm working later
Hope everyone has a good day x

Morning allJust back from getting some plants at a local garden centre. Just checked local travel news and it said there was an accident nearby so that explains the tailbacks that took me 3 times as long to get home!Had a an e consult with GP re my arthritic knees last week. She's booked me in for blood and urine test to check my kidneys as ibruprofen seems to be the only thing that helps and just got a call for an appt with her this afternoon as she wants to check whether its the bones or cartilage causing the problem. When the NHS works, it was so well.Right, will finish my coffee and then put my plants into the garden.Hope everyone has a good day. Ooops forgot weather forecast. Cloudy but 17-18 degrees later so in the garden with my book after doc's appt. Keep safe all x8

Slightly late arrival here!
When I walked B-dog earlier it was lovely and sunny - cool wind again now. Last day at one job today until after the summer, had a lovely thank you present from the manager (and treats for B-dog even though she hasn’t met him!)!Just going to try to do some craft shop work in my lunch break! I have a chocolate cookie as motivation!Take care all
