Double Tree by Hilton competiton

I entered a Facebook competition to win a night at the Double Tree by Hilton in York in May and I have received a Facebook notification to say I have won. It says I should have received an e mail to confirm the win. No e mail has arrived and the on line winners link is asking for a credit card number. The receptionist on duty tonight knew nothing about a competition and I wonder if this is a scam?

@Swanlander Sounds like it's a scam there's lots of them on social media. Never give card details. Scammers usually have links to click on like freesitey .me or similar.2

Ignore a genuine prize giver would never need credit or debit card details.Swanlander said:I entered a Facebook competition to win a night at the Double Tree by Hilton in York in May and I have received a Facebook notification to say I have won.
