Dyson Airwrap - Sold an incorrect model had hair in was 5 years old Dyson wont return or exchange

Can anyone help me. 
I went into the Dyson Trafford Centre store today and purchased a Dyson Airwrap, only to get home and realise the product was incorrect, was a different colour and had been used with other hairs attached to the accessories.

I then went back to return to the shop to be told by the staff that the item cannot be returned or exchanged. When questioned on this the staff member even told me they  remembered me in the store earlier that same day but could not return the item for the correct one.

Dyson have sold me the wrong item, the staff member said the model I had in the box has not even been sold for 5 years, which somehow was in a sealed box and apparently quality checked at the factory. This is clearly not the case.

    Was the model in the box different from the actual item inside?   Do you have the receipt showing what you bought?
    Dyson have a 30 return policy so unless the staff believe that you might have swapped an old one, you should have a refund.
  • Yeah the model was over five years old (I only found this out after they told me, I was non the wiser) it was 4 hours between bying it to coming back to return it for the correct medel, which they said they couldn't do. 
  • Here is the returns policy from the Dyson Trafford Centre website.   Was the one you bought a refurbished item or final sale as below?
