Mortgage application - previously self-employed, now employed - advice needed please

Options
Hi guys, wondered if someone could help me please?

I was self employed for about 18 months up until March this year. I then took a new job and am now employed. I am looking to apply for a mortgage and wondered what lenders may require from me proof of earnings wise? Will my previous self-employment be relevant? or will they just go off of my recent payslips, statements, contract etc?

Thanks!

    Payslips, maybe contract of employment.

Assuming the self employment has stopped/been cut back, they will not use that income as it is no longer an income.

Assuming the new employer wasn't involved with your previous self-employment there shouldn't be a problem I would have thought...

After getting two mortgages whilst self-employed, I found the experience being back as an employee unexpectedly straightforward...

I was in a similar situation - was self-employed for 2 years and stopped being self-employed at the beginning of March 2024. When I applied in March my lender (Santander) told me they couldn't proceed until I had my May payslip as they require at least 3 months as an employee. I then replied as soon as got my May payslip and they only asked for 3 months payslips, 3 months bank statements and 2 years P60
