Hi folks,
Sent two CCA requests to Link Financial using the template from national debtline on 24th May.
Had no reply from them as yet.
What is the next steps? What if they just say they never received it?

This is where the legislation works in your favour.
You have submitted a request for information under sec 77/79 CCA 1974.
Whilst this is being processed, your debt is unenforceable in court, and will remain that way until actioned.
You have started this process just by sending the letter, they should acknowledge receipt of it, but rarely do, until the get a response, the above will apply, no matter how ling that may be.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I owe link, I sent my cca request by signed for royal mail.
they signed for it. they did find cca a couple of months later.
if they don't even acknowledge you, you win cos they have defaulted on your request. so even if they ignore you and never acknowledge you, they still defaulted a request from youChristians Against Poverty solved my debt problem, when all other debt charities failed. Give them a call !! ( You don't have to be a Christian ! )

I believe they wont respond as they have absolutely no chance of supplying the CCA. They wont tell you this but hope you will just start paying.0

Apologies for jumping into this conversation but long story short, I have a debt now with Link Financial that I'm ignoring in the hopes it will become statue barred in a couple of years.
Can you please clarify if I was to ask them for my CCA ,as I am receiving their letters, would the CCA request be classed as acknowledgement of said debt thus resetting the 6 years ?
Thanks0 -
Send the prove it letter in the stickies. That is written to avoid acknowledgement.
But consider if you need to yet. They've probably not looked at the documentation. If they do and find it, there's temptation to enforce the debt through the courts. Maybe better to start your own thread and share more about the debt and correspondence. And delay any letter from yourself as long as possible? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing1 -

I don't know of any court case where this was tested and so to avoid you becoming that test case you should not do a cca request, or engage in any way if your strategy is to get this statute barred
If they want to start a court claim they would have to send a formal preaction letter with reply form and 30 day limit. We can advise you how to reply if that happens1 -
Thanks all for your replies. I will continue to ignore my debt collector!
Will keep you posted should anything arise0
