I heard something on the radio about this, and it seems that some salad leaves, they believe, are contaminated out in the fields.

I do sometimes buy the more unusual salad leaves so it would help to know which variety/ varieties are suspect.

This story does rather show how illusory it is to think that one supermarket's produce is superior to another's just based on that store's image. We've seen this so many times before with food scares -  they all tend to fish in the same, small, pond.

The news this morning is that it is one specific lettuce leaf and they are now trying to identify the supplier and farm that produced it.

food.gov page last updated 14th june & says "Greencore Group is taking the precautionary step of recalling various sandwiches, wraps and salads because of possible contamination with E. coli.

E.coli has not been detected in the products listed below but are being recalled as a precaution."
