Council tax band

Hello
I live in a council property, I'm in a 1 bed flat and on the same council band as a 3 bed and a 2 bed flat, some have gardens.
Is this right? Are all flats in a block meant to be on the same council band? I'm currently on band C.
Thanks in advance

Sounds too high to me, difficult to imagine a 3 bed has same value as a 1 bed. Check when it was banded and the value at the time. Some info here https://www.gov.uk/council-tax-bandsLoads of threads on here.I became a MSE fan after following Martins guide and getting a reduced band - and a 12 year back payment from the council.

Are the bands of the other 1 beds in the block also Band C. Because of the band width it is quite possible for a 1 bed and 2 bed to be in the same band, but a 3 bed may be stretching it. How long have you lived there? If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales1

Thank you so much for your replies, all the flats in the block are band C. Some are 2 and 3 bed flats with gardens. All on band C. I've been at this property for 18 months. Queried it with the council but they just said "it is what it is"0

The council are not responsible for CT bands, that is the responsibility of the VOA in Eng and Wales, the Assessor in Scot. I should point out that bedrooms aren't the deciding factor in CT assessments, size plays more of a part in arriving at the CT band.
However having said that, if you can find council built 1 bed flats of a similar age in the area in a lower band, then you can ask the VOA/Assessor if they could review the band.If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
