AON pension incompetence

Hello we are new to this site, applied for a fixed term Annuity with AON and a third party in Jan to pay for my operation I needed to pay for myself, so I could carry on working, no choice unfortunately with nhs waiting list.
Had many many problems admin both sides, had to cancel my scheduled March 4th operation and postpone to May 21st, cancelled my application for Annuity with Aon and legal and General Annuity provider, and decided to just deal with Aon and take a lump sum and applied end of April I had 2 accounts more than enough to cover my operation, simple I thought 5 weeks turnaround to get funds, plenty of time for paying my operation in May I even took out a short term 0% interest loan with spire £1350 a month first payment end of June, no problem I thought money will definitely be released it's a simple transaction taking lump sum straight into bank.
May 3rd alarm bells no money no feed back contacted all was going through fine I was told, informed.them time was of the essence.as.i needed.to pay for.surgery.
June 3rd panicking now money overdue paying into bank,.was told by Aon they are changing there pension to a master trust,.but my appli action was.put in well before the.cut off date, and was told my funds had been released and should be.paid into my account in days, 11th June no money in account, contacted AON was told now I would not be getting money and will have to re apply, but there is a blackout and I could not contact until July 1st, all these false promises, excessive waiting moving the goalposts, this has now.put us in a financial trouble had to take.out a loan for £13000 to cover payments for my hip replacement and start again, I am trying to recover from my operation and have all the stress of starting re applying,  so let down

Suggest you set everything down in a simple point form in chronological order and submit a complaint to Aon.

Be aware that you need to complete any complaints procedure before the Pensions Ombudsman will be able to consider your case.
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!
  • Thank you for info have done so

You say above that you've submitted your complaint today, so you need to wait until you've had a response - 'completing' doesn't just mean making the complaint, so I'm afraid you have a bit of wait until you could go to the PO. Hopefully it'll be resolved before you need to take such a step.
