Pay Rise advice

Last April 2023 my company advised that there was no money for a pay rise. In the same letter it was declared that we may all get a bonus in Novembers pay if we reduce waste, £150 per percentage decrease in waste, it could be between 1% and 10%.
New year came and we were told we hadn't reduced waste, so no bonus. Around the same time I asked about a pay rise for this this year and was told it would depend on contracts being renewed with some of our bigger clients.
We have recently been told one of our bigger clients has signed up for a number of years.

I would like to enquire again about a pay rise for this year and am thinking I could quote the inflation rates of the last few years, that we have missed out on.
Could anyone advise how I would word that and what figures I should include?
Many thanks

I don't think it matters what inflation figures you use, either the employer is minded to give you a rise or it is not. It seems to me they are dangling carrots to persuade the workforce to stay. Who knows how solvent the company is? The client renewing the contract may in fact only have just stopped the company from going under.
Just remind them that they said there may be a pay rise following the contract renewalIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales3 -
The best leverage I’ve had with pay and conditions is discussing a job offer elsewhere that I’ve received.2
