Lurpak Spreadable

I've used Lurpak Spreadable slightly salted for years and lately I've noticed it's changed.
Taste wise it seems OK but it has become hard to spread, it seems more oily. It won't stay on the knife or on the bread it has a weird texture.
Obviously they have cheapened the recipe although they tell me they haven't.
Has anyone else noticed?

I don't use lurpak but I've noticed it with other spreads too.1

I haven’t used LURPAK for years as I thought it had always been difficult to spread. Vile stuff. lol.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £30,358.131

Probably more water added. There was a newspaper article this year saying they were one of the few who haven’t changed their recipes but technically adding more water isn’t an actual change?Only a guess though as I only use proper butter.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. We use Waitrose spreadable which is ok but their butter is much harder. I can barely cut it when I get it out of the fridge. I wonder if they are putting water in it.0

Sounds feasible, everything we buy now is cheapened.

Its the spreadables that usually have water in them which is true of Waitrose along with rapeseed oil, in fact I think it’s about 60% butter from memoryI’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Beware of the "lighter" version, it has much more water and much less butter.

When we bought our house, the difference between mortgage and rent saved us roughly £200 per month. Literally the first changes we made, were to switch to real butter from soya margarine and to change from sunflower oil to olive oil.
I don't know why people buy any of these so-called spreadable butters. If you look at the ingredients, they are really just margarines with added butter, plus emulsifiers to stop the two separating. They can be more expensive than butter.0 -

But the "lighter" one is a joke, much cheaper to produce but sells at same price.
