Good morning, quite a nice start here. Yesterday was sunny but cold and windy.
I didn't get to post yesterday, I was absolutely wiped out a after a really bad night.
Nanny, I'm very sorry about your Dad, Hope he's improving a bit. What a shock for you all.
That was a long journey you did to the hospital Florence, you must be exhausted.
Glad the gardener did a good job for you SO.
Hope you were ok giving blood Allie, it's so worthwhile. I started donating after receiving a transfusion myself. I don't do it now, I think I'm too old and suffer with anaemia anyway.
Hope everyone has a good day today, thinking of our poorly people.
Take care folks.

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Another grim looking day seems to be in store and that dratted cold wind is still blowing. At this rate summer will be over before we have had any summer!
I was going to go to the caravan for this coming week but the forecast is still looking hit and miss so I have postponed it until the week after.
Yesterday's avalanche of photos from Oz friend were from Ipswich as one of the sons wanted to do the Rendlesham Trail. The only UFO they saw was a model but they enjoyed the forest walk despite that!
It's the supermarket sweep this morning with DS. I don't need a great deal but the fridge is looking a bit bare, as is the fruit bowl.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all our poorlies, poorly loved ones or just fed up. Take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Thanks for the start Scarlet.Thank you, the blood donation was fine - that was my 60th so I’ll be a few years before I get a free dinner (I think at 100 and it’s about 3 per year).Yesterday was a blur of a not very busy craft fair (but it was for charity so I’m trying to be philosophical!), and scrubbing and hosing the drive of the builders dirt. They haven’t finished but likely won’t be up and down the long drive with barrows. It’s a shared drive so felt it was the polite thing to do for the neighbours. It’s not perfect but much better.Today will be dog walking, lawn mowing and some dust removal I think. There’s also a big air show about 30 miles away and we usually get to see some aircraft on their way there or back so there’ll likely be lots of squinting at the sky too.Happy Sunday

Morning all
Lovely day here with wall to wall sunshine sorry to those of us with poor weather.
I am taking dd and her friend to Gatwick today it’s only about an hour from here so not too bad, I am envious of the week in the sunshine that they will have and all those lovely beaches and Greek food but I am happy for them.
Dinner for OH and I will probably be a bbq I will have a rummage in the freezer to see what we have, we always have salad and new potatoes so I can cobble together something.
I have a wash on the go which can be hung out and house is tidy but I will probably need to hoover later on.
Nan I hope your dad is improving xxx
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
Morning All
Fairly bright this morning but I don't think the rain is far away. After a good start yesterday there were heavy showers, of course I was cleaning the windows outside at the time! I have one left to do so will get on with that this morning. Washing was just about dry outside and I've done the ironing this morning.
Hope your DD has a good time Ruby.
Well done Allie, I only gave blood once and was asked not to go back, apparently my veins are smaller than the needles and it took too long!
Hope you've had a good sleep Scarlet.
Didn't go shopping yesterday so will go today, the fridge is very empty and I'm trying to empty the freezer before I go away so won't need much anyway, just fresh stuff.
Hope everyone has a peaceful and happy Sunday, take care. XX

Hello all, I'd forgotten it's Sunday, think I've got lost this week. I got the bed changed and the bedding washed and dried yesterday. DD and DGS called in later after their visit to the hospital, Dad was pleased to see his DGGS.
Yesterday Dad was able to move his arm a bit but is still dribbling and on complete bed rest. I have to go to Dad's this morning to collect a few things then go straight over to the hospital. My hip is giving me a bit of gyp today, it could be from walking from the car park to Dad's ward and back, it feels about 3 miles as it's at the furthest end ! Never mind it must be helping me get fitter.
Tomorrow I start my radiotherapy and my plan is to go there first then call in to see Dad on the way home so I may be missing a bit while I'm flitting between hospitals.
Take care all, be good and stay well. Hugs to anyone in need.
nan xx

Morning all - there's bright sunshine here which deceives the eye as the nasty biting wind is still wafting over the land. Last nigh storm-strength winds battered the house for an hour or so, it was as noisy and violent as mid-winter.Yesterday I collected the balance of a med from the pharmacy and bought a paper. Once again I decided that I can do without any shopping, I was tempted by the Farmer's Market before remembering that I had lambs liver in the freezer so resisted. At home I dug out the liver which I'll have tomorrow. When I was younger I donated blood four times a year - in Scotland it's every three months - and then moved onto giving plasma when in England. The bonus was being able to sit up properly for it, getting the blood back and being given two credits for the wee book. Now I'm too old.
@Camelot - how many people tried your veins?
Last night I was really cold, the electric blanket came in very handy and I put another layer on top of my pjs. Seems that the weather will continue this chilly stream for another five or six days.I'm not surprised you've postponed your caravan stay @TA.I hope that a good sleep helped you feel better @Scarlet.No real plans today, I'll potter around. I'm sad about Dr Michael Mosley being found dead, life is very strange.Hugs to all our poorlies and thoughts to Nan's dear Dad.9 -
Morning all, missed posting yesterday, busy busy day. Football first with DGS, he scored a goal so he was in good spirits.Next on to a butchers to pick up the pork pie and sausage rolls they are renowned for, got one for DGS so dropped it off. They were part of the picnic I was doing for the mini music festival. We met some friends there mid afternoon, then DB & family turned up an hour later and squeezed their 5 chairs in - their 1st time going and they seemed to enjoy it. My niece drove them there and back, we got a taxi home,it finished around 10.30.By that time I was shivering with cold, despite 2 jackets on. There was a cold wind but the sun did keep popping out.AA shame the craft fair wasn't busy after all your hard work.Nan thinking of you and your Dad.Tea will be some kebabs DH also got at the butchers, he was hoping to bbq them but the weather isn't promising. My brain is a bit mangled after our busy day, and I need another brew as my voice is feeling hoarse after needing to shout over the music, so I shall love you and leave you, and hope you all have a good day.

Morning everyone NANNY I will be thinking of you tomorrow hope all goes well I’m pleased you dad is a little bit better but please take care of yourself. It’s dry for the minute here but so cold it’s like winter I’m giving it until after lunch and the heating is going on I’m frozen to the bone . Not a lot going on here we have had one son call and another is calling later my daughter popped in yesterday there is always one of them in and out I think they stick there head in the door to make sure we are still alive and if I’ve baked they can all eat . I hobbled round to the craft fair yesterday and got a couple of pairs of earrings to pop into Xmas presents and a nice pair for myself I’m lost without earrings in . I’ve just seen the sad news about Michael Moseley how awful . Right I must crack on I’ve got a couple of throws hung on the line if it stays dry they won’t be long in drying they are only thin that I cover the sofa with for the little dog jumping on small joint of beef is cooking away that’s lunch sorted and sandwiches tomorrow. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9
