Our 5 Yr fixed rate mortgage is due to end in July 2026 and we have a personal loan which is due to end in Dec 2026. We are going to start making regular overpayments on the loan this month with a view to clearing it before we need a new mortgage (we haven't financially been able to overpay before now). We are going to start looking at new mortgage deals 6-9 months before our current deal ends and I wondered because we will still have the loan at that point is that likely to affect what we will be offered as although it should be cleared before the new mortgage starts it will still be in place when we are applying? Hope that all makes sense!

Having the loan in place should not affect the remortgage...unless you're looking to borrow more money on your mortgage

Thanks for the reply. No, we are not looking to borrow any more money
