Good morning, it was sunny here but now it's not. I don't think rain is forecast though.
We had a nice day out yesterday at a NT place we haven't visited for a few years, it was sunshine all the way, lovely.
Hi Nanny, glad to see you, I'm pleased that you've had a good holiday.
Not much going on here today except general house stuff.Well, I'm saying that, we'll have to strip the wallpaper from the wall where DH found the damp patch - he had to pull some paper off to treat it, so the whole wall will have to be redone.
Hope everyone has a good day today, and the poorlies are feeling better, take care folks.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, sounds like you had a good day out.
I spent all morning in the garden, trimmed the edges of the grass, cut some things down and cut the grass and it looks much tidier out there. No sunshine but it was dry and reasonably warm. Also potted up some more tomatoes, the rest can go in the bin! I'll hopefully remember for next year not so sow the contents of every packet!
I also went across to my neighbour's to plant out some squash and sweet corn - they have a patch of garden they don't use for anything so I fill it up with veggies!
I had a hoover round but was too tired for much housework, will get it done after work although the bedding was changed.
Pleased to hear you had a good break Nanny. Now continue resting!
Hope your MRI went ok Gers and the roads weren't too busy.
Hugs to anyone not feeling 100%, look after yourselves.
Take care. XX9 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. A bit of a pain having to do some unplanned wallpapering, it's true isn't it that one job always leads to another.
No sun today but at least no rain on the forecast. Yesterday was lovely whilst the sun was out but felt chilly when it disappeared behind cloud, thanks to the ever present wind. I managed a bit of reading outside once the shopping had been done and put away. DS had taken lots of photos of the finally finished house of doom and it looks really lovely. Especially the new kitchen. It's now ready for its new resident - DD's ex who recently split from his second partner and has been staying at his mums!
Not a lot planned for today but I really should make a bit of an effort to tidy up the front garden. I wonder if I could get away with calling it a wildlife sanctuary?!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better or just fed up. Glad you enjoyed your break NAN. WL your DS's wedding sounds something to really look forward to - shopping for a sari sounds so exciting.
Take care folks be safe xx

Morning all. Thanks for starting us off @Scarlet, happy stripping!
My drive to Glasgow and back was very smooth and trouble free. There was hardly any other traffic on the way down, I was too early for most people and no heavy wagons. I got slightly confused at one point near the hospital and drove round Hampden Park three times before realising that the 'turn right' instruction from sat nav actually meant 'drive straight ahead'. 😀 Anyway, made it in plenty of time then had a fairly uncomfortable and very noisy half hour in the scanner. After it I had to loosen my joints up before getting off the thing. On the way home I did a bit of shopping. There was more traffic than before and the road into Glasgow was queuing from well before Luss up to Balloch. I felt sorry for all the drivers as I whizzed the other way. Once home I ate, had a snifter or two then went to bed. I was much more tired than I expected.Today is looking rather soggy already, I think there's been a lot of overnight rain and more on the way. I'll be mostly resting and doing the bulk of the monthly banking.Great news about your DS's hous @TA. Fingers crossed for a better tenant this time.8 -

Morning all
Looks to be a nice day here but slightly chilly this morning, only Rob coming today as the other lady is poorly so I expect we will go out for a walk and then home for lunch in the garden.
Mum did not come for dinner yesterday but I took one round to her, she felt quite poorly and wobbly on her feet she is also not sleeping so I have told her to try and ring the dr today for an emergency appointment and I will run her down there. She enjoyed her dinner though and the ice cream I took her for pudding.
Dinner tonight will be the rest of the roast lamb from yesterday just need to heat it through, house if tidy but I need to run the hoover over.
Gers glad it went well, I really didn’t like the mri scan I had in fact it really frightened me and it does take it out of you, glad yours went well xx
Have good days all and take care xx7 -
Morning all, thanks Scarlet, shame about the wallpaper!Nan, pleased you had a lovely time on hol.Gers , glad the Mri appt and travel was ok. They are so noisy those machines!WL sounds like it will be a wonderful occasion.Chrisca enjoy potteringHopefully DS rental will go better with someone known to your family TACamelot, you were very busy with all that gardening.Enjoy your catchup Izzy.DH and I went to the plant nursery yesterday. We have used them before we moved here but DS2 reminded us about it.We got loads of plants, and couldn't believe how many we got for the price! I spent yesterday afternoon putting them in pots, and the obligatory chat over the fence with the neighbours :)Then DH switched on the bbq ( it's gas
) but the wind was a bit chilly so we ate inside. Last night we checked we were nearly ready to send off all the paperwork to the small claims for DH defence against the rogue heating engineer from 4 years ago. His customer has now sent their statement backing DH along with pics of the work so hopefully it will be ok but apparently according to a letter received at the weekend he hasn't even paid the fee yet, in which case the court will drop it
I thought i was minding DGS today ( training day at school) but his other Grandma says she hasn't seen him for ages & could he stay with his little siblings. I did see him briefly yesterday afternoon though, DS had him for the night on Sat.after his DM & DSD dropped him on the way home from their hol.Its drizzling a bit nowRoast chicken for tea and I think I'd better make a loaf.
Have a good day all:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)7 -
Hi everyone,
The family are home and chaos resumes. Brian has taken Esben and Esther to their respective nurseries. Esben's is a school one which starts at 8.40 so I think he was going to be late, he refused to get dressed this morning until i showed him the shorts I had got for him. I got him two different sizes because he is so slim but tall, he needs an older size in trousers but then they slip down his waist, of course it doesn't count in shorts so he had the correct age.
I spent yesterday in bed with a migraine and slept most of the day away, typical on the first nice day we have had for ages. I still feel a bit peely-wally if that's how you spell it but hopefully I'll get better through the day.
I hope the mri results are fine Gers.
I hope your mum is ok, Ruby.
Have a good day.8 -
Morning all.
Still feeling awful here; my nose is completely blocked and having to breathe through my mouth. This has been going on since Tuesday evening and each morning I wake up hoping to feel better but no luck. I'm having to postpone all sorts of things and must ring the dentist next as I'm due to have a crown fitted in a couple of days but won't be able to cope with that this week.
We did get out yesterday and managed to find a replacement courgette plant for our one that got eaten by creatures. This time DH has planted it in the front border so hope it survives. My £1 butternut squash plant seems to be growing leaves there so maybe they can encourage each other.
DH's car is going for a service today and he's having someone come and pick it up. He usually has it done by at the garage around the corner from us but this one is somehow tied to where he bought the car.
Hope everyone else is keeping well and getting a bit of sunshine.

Morning! Kind of sunny but on and off. That was a scorcher yesterday, didn't do much of anything. Today I'm going to make a list of things I have to do to get organised for the building work. I mean, I know it was going to happen, but it was going to happen in some unspecified time in the future, now it's a specified time and we I have so much to sort out. Maybe we should hire some storage for a few months. I forsee a charity shop dump happening this week too
And I'd better start moving my pots that I had just sorted out...it'll keep me busy though eh?
Gers, glad you're back safe and sound, hope you're doing a big fat nothing, along with Nanny...camelot, did you lose the memo saying you were ill and don't go crazy?TA, can't you get your GC to do it for pocket money? Double whammy, they get a spaghetti bake [possibly], you get some company
WL, at least you made it to the dinner. You're not allergic to something as well are you? snoozer, you probably had a migraine because they were all back
j/k!!! Izzy, there is that yes, you make a good point. Are you more in the swing of things now? Rosy, ooo, plants....thanks for derailing my train of though. That's really funny about the other gran, is she feeling left out? Take care all...
