It would be well past its' sell by date by the time I travelled there!
They have to sell it for no matter what cost, otherwise the full original amount comes off the stores waste budget that is supposed to be managed well.
Hope you've filled your freezer! One hundred years from now it won't matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, nor what my clothes looked like but the world may be a little better because, I was important in the life of a child.0 -
I can beat that.
Called at my local Asda last night for bread and milk (- no bread left !) and they were reducing things to 1p ie ONE PENCE each !!
I came away with bags full and gave away to family and friends as my freezer still full to the brim.:D0 -
got a big choc cake for £1. it was £6 originally all because packaging dented it has a day or two on it but will be eaten fast in my house.#JusticeForGrenfell0

Now my Asda don't do this, I been there a few times and asked if things were being reduced and the very rude bakery manager said no as it costs them more to reduce, if they waste it then they get the full amount back
admitedly I was asking about birthday cakes but still

grabbed bag fulls of bargains in my Asda last night :T they really do seem to have had an over stocking problem this year despite extra opening hours and plenty of customers
does anyone else who goes bargain shopping regularly have favourite reducers ?? we have two regular ones and one of them seems to think she is doing you the biggest favour if she goes anything under 50% off, seems to delight in seeing it left at the end of the evening
the manager was behind her last night though and made sure she adjusted the prices
The other regular reducer just wants the items gone and reduces quite early to silly prices :T0 -
I think it depends what products it is, as to what allowances they get for waste etc.Now my Asda don't do this, I been there a few times and asked if things were being reduced and the very rude bakery manager said no as it costs them more to reduce, if they waste it then they get the full amount back

our asda bakery seem to have the same products reduced on a daily basis, I personally think this is bad management, if it isnt selling why bake so much each day just to reduce each day
I dont know how the daily bread waste is calculated but the deli waste is weighed and priced daily and is accountable in their targets.
we are lucky though we do get reductions on all bakery products and often birthday cakes etc go for as little as £1 :T0 -
With birthday cakes we are lucky if they knock £1 OFF!

Any luck today? I'm thinking of going down today or tml. Does anyone have any idea if there'll be another round of big reductions on food because of the new year?0
