I’m hoping that having a diary will keep me accountable. As it stands we don’t currently have any debt, however we move house on Friday and will be doubling the mortgage.
I need to stay focus, while allowing us to have a life.
It currently looks like there will be 3 of us living in the house full time and my step son at weekends. I have 2 other children, however I have been alienated from my eldest daughter for 4 years, we may see her 3/4 times a year. By only when it’s too her benefit, unfortunately it now looks as if my son has been influenced to do the same.

So we have costs linked to this which can’t be reduced, maintenance, counselling for our youngest, physio for me (a parting gift from my ex, which has lead to a lifelong degenerative injury).
Right now I am working full time, but would like to reduce this as soon as possible, I am currently looking at 4 years in September when the younger of the alienated kids will be 18 and finished full time education.

My husband works full time and is looking at a part time job to bring in additional income, however he needs to be careful as he has had health issues in the past.
Hopefully within the next few weeks, I will know what the bills are and can complete a statement of account.

Got me thinking, why does your husband feel the need to get s part time job if this could jeopardize his health? Is it because you want to switch part time and he feels the need to pick up more load?Is your plan to be part time subject to how the household income calculations turn out, without your husband taking another job?Note:I'm FTB, not an expert, all my comments are from personal experience and not a professional advice.Mortgage debt start date = 25/10/2024 = 175k (5.44% interest rate, 20 year term)Q4/2024 = 139.3k (5.19% interest rate)Q1/2025 = 125.3k (interest rate dropped from 5.19% - 4.69%)Q2/2025 = 108.9K (interest rate 4.44%)Q3/2025 = 99.9k (interest rate dropped from 4.44% to 4.19%)0
