Hi Everyone,
I just read Martin’s most recent email and he posted about a reduced price magazine subscription offer… I can go one better than that and tell you how to read thousands of different magazines and newspapers for free…
1. Join your local library.
2. Download the Libby app to your device (phone, iPad, tablet etc.)
3. Input the name of your library and your barcode number (it doesn’t scan barcodes, you enter it manually.).
4. Borrow a digital copy of whatever magazine you want for seven days at a time, or just read it without borrowing.
According to the magazines front page of the app, more than 4,900 different titles are available and they all have back-issues available, too.
In addition to that, there are more than 460 Marvel Comics titles, 30 DC Comics titles, and more than 270 other comics available.
Just take a recent proof of address to your library and you get access to all of them!
In addition to the magazines and comics, obviously e-books can be borrowed but also audiobooks are available, too. Forget paying for Audible, all audiobook titles are free to borrow from Libby.
You won’t pay any overdue fees either, titles are automatically returned at the end of the borrowing period if you don’t renew them. (If it’s a popular title that has a waiting list, you won’t be able to renew, but you can add yourself to a queue to borrow it again and Libby will remember where you got to last time you were listening/reading.)
What are you waiting for?

Ah, but I like a real paper copy of a magazine- online is not the same. however there are still cheap ways to do this...
get a magazine with my Club Lloyds account
Bought a magazine subscription recently - 6 issues for £6. (cheaper than a newspaper w/e edition)
At the end of the day they get lent to friends to read and eventually they go off to a charity shop to raise some funds for that particular charity
Moral: never put a magazine in paper recycling! Give it away for someone else to enjoy.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I'm inclined to agree with Katiehound. My friend has a subscription to a magazine given to her each year as a Xmas present. She reads it, and then passes it to me. I read it and then pass it on to my mum who is in a nursing home. She reads it, and it then goes to their Activity room for other ladies to read and enjoy. Now I could read the magazine online, as my friend could. But my mother and the other ladies in the home, have no access to the internet. Having the paper copy is a big deal for them.Sealed Pot Challenge no 035.

I'm a big fan of access to newspapers/magazines via one's library account. Not to say I don't have paper subscriptions to specialist magazines such as Fibre Mood, (because I do), but I can also read many UK and international papers & magazines without having a physical copy.
Tonight I can flick through the latest issue of 'the simple things' and read most of the UK dailies.Fashion on the Ration 2025 20/663 -

The suggestion that we Brits don't understand stats is a nerve coming from a nation that cannot even count votes fairly. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.0 -
We can count the vote fairly - it is just that the losing side doesn't believe they lost. So far all of the fraudulent ballots have been submitted by their voters too.2
