Hi all,
Can anybody advise if the default date enclosed within this closed dispute response from Cabot is correct, as a default being applied 17 months after the last payment seems... ropey practice at best

My name is [redacted], I have investigated your dispute and I hope to help you now by providing a resolution to this matter.
My understanding of your dispute
You believe the account should have defaulted earlier as your payments stopped in June 2017.
My investigation
This account was opened on 16th February 2017. I can see your final payment was made on 1st June 2017.
I have enclosed a copy of the default notice sent to you on 16th February 2017. This letter explained the account was in arrears due to missed payments.
I understand the account was later terminated on 30th November 2018. We contacted Marbles who confirmed the account defaulted when it was sold. They have confirmed the default date we hold (30th November 2018) is correct.
We (Cabot) purchased the account on 6th December 2018.
Conclusion
In light of the above, I believe the default date we hold is corredct. As we are not the original lender and did not apply the original default, we cannot investigate this any further. If you disagree with the default information, we suggest you raise this with Marbles directly.
