Pre-Employment Credit Check - Ex Bankrupt

Hey All,

I’ve just been offered my dream job after building up my career following bankruptcy 9 years ago.

This is the first time I’ve experienced this but the offer is subject to satisfactory credit history (not financial services industry but a fairly senior management role).

My credit report is clean & the bankruptcy has fallen off….. will the employer see anything regarding my historic bankruptcy through the checks or not as it is over 6 years ago?

It depends how far they search, your name should still be in the London Gazette.

Are you asked on any application form if you have ever been bankrupt?

If so you must be honest.

What's the job? 

Ex worked in financial services as a bankruptee which was 10 years prior but was actually with the banking group that bankrupted her. 

If its a governmental job requiring higher levels of clearance then they may search deeper than just the CRAs
