Boots contact lens by post scheme - cheaper alternative or a good deal?

Hi all,

I was on the D&A (now Boots) contact lens by post scheme at around £16 per month for Johnson and Johnson 1 day accuvue lenses, box of 30 every 3 months
I know with the scheme you get:
Free eye tests and contact lens checks
Half price glasses
Advantage card points

Also I could suspend it for up to 6 months at a time when lenses aren't needed. I wear glasses all the time and lenses infrequently.

I'm wondering whether there might be a better arrangement out there. I know you can get glasses and contact lenses cheaper online, just considering the cost of eye tests and contact lens checks as well?
