Good morning, it's a fine start here. Yesterday turned into a lovely warm day, it was really nice.
I visited my old friend and we had a good afternoon sitting in her conservatory chatting, it was so pleasant.

The decorating is going well, one room is practically done, I just have to put stuff back in the bookcase. I have a lot of china in the dresser, that took a while to put back, but it's done. Our other room is a bit bigger but there's not so much stuff to move. I think we'll have a couple of days off before we start that.
Your new bathroom will be lovely Izzie, I know it causes an upheaval but it'll be worth it.

Glad your cough is going and you're feeling a bit better Gers.

I need a bit of shopping today, apart from that I'll just be tidying and sorting through books..

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET.  The sun is currently shining but I am not expecting it to last. Yesterday was cold and my friends from Oz were bundled up in winter woollies!!

We had a lovely lunch but her DH and sons didn't give us much time on our own for chatting unfortunately. Her sister in Oz had asked her to look out for some face cream she couldn't get over there so we escaped to Boots but they didn't stock it. The helpful assistant checked on line and said it was available in Superdrug so we went there. Yes they do stock it but it was out of stock! By then her family had caught up with us again.  She texted me at night to say how lovely it was to meet up again but  had never given a thought to taking some photos and could they pop up this morning to take some! I hate having my photo taken these days but I could hardly say no could I, so they are due to call mid morning.

My own family has dwindled for now. DS and his DP have gone up to Northumberland for a few days and middle DGD went to Lourdes yesterday with school as helpers for the infirm on their pilgrimage. Eldest DGD did the same trip but it was just after her granddad (my lovely Bob) had died and the whole experience stirred up too many memories for her and she found it difficult to cope with. Such a shame.

Morning all. The sun is shining here at the moment.

Yesterday's walk was fine but the path was very overgrown in places. We were hacking our way through tall nettles and other things but escaped unscathed. We had a great pub lunch near the end though, just outside our final village destination.

I've just put some washing on and hope it stays dry. DD is bringing the gcs over later this morning so I might need to pop out for some top up supplies before then. Have put the rugby on to record and will watch that in peace once they've gone

Morning all, it's quite nice and sunny today, still a bit chilly. We were up early as DH had to take DS1 to collect his car from a neighbouring town. It's been having a revamp/respray by one of his car mates, DS has done a lot of the donkey work to keep the cost down and has now gone off to a Japanese car fest near Leeds. DH said it looks fab.

No real plans today- no football for DGS as they were knocked out of the cup, but will probably watch the FA cup final later on tv. DGD has a tournament tomorrow.

I had a new cordless shark hoover delivered yesterday, it was mentioned on MSE with a money off link- seemed a good deal so it's been charging, and I'll give it a go later. My old gtec had lost a wheel and the battery doesn't last long these days.

Time for another cuppa I think, have a good BH weekend.

Morning all

Beautiful day here and I have one load on the line and another in the wm should dry well today. 

DD is away this weekend on a hen do it’s her best friend from secondary school she gets married in July and dd is bridesmaid she is carrying the brides baby down the aisle instead of flowers and is really looking forward to it.

OH and I are going to bbq this evening we will go to a local farm shop to get a few bits they have a great butcher and sell fresh asparagus and jersey royals, will put a bottle of wine in the fridge and that will be our evening.

Housework to do and dogs to be walked and then the day is ours.

We had fish and chips for a treat last night and got mum some she loved it and said she would treat us next time 😃

Rosy I have a shark and they are very good but every now and then I get the Henry out for a really good deep clean xx

My younger son was in Lourdes 19 years ago on the same trip when my mum died. Hope she enjoys it.
