Good morning, it's a bit of an uncertain start weatherwise, I wouldn't be surprised if it rained.
We weren't out yesterday, just kept going with the decorating.
Rosy, that bus inspector was horrible, I think he was showing off in front of a bus full of people but it seems to have backfired on him. I'm glad people spoke up for the young lad.
I really should go out today to visit an old friend nearby, I don't feel like it but I'll go, it's only a couple of hours, and she likes a chat.
It's getting darker here, we're obviously in for a downpour.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.

Morning, thanks for starting us off Scarlet. Good work with the decorating.Yesterday I managed to not cough too much during the chemistry exam. I had three very pleasant and polite students who all finished with an hour to go. I had prepared my meal beforehand so got to eat it straightaway. In the morning I made some potato salad, I don't eat potatoes normally but really fancied this. Peeling the still hot potatoes took me right back to my childhood and that's a long time ago!The bullet gets used each morning, mostly a strange concoction of fruit, veggies and seeds. Without banana in it I doubt it would be palatable, so far I'm enjoying it. Now I'm waiting to see if it makes a difference to how I feel. 🤞
I'm not sure how my day will pan out. Showers are expected again. Apart from taking stuff to the tip I'll be pottering around. After a very expensive couple of weeks I'll be keeping my purse strings tightly closed for a while.Hugs to our poorlies.10 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Surprisingly we didn't have any rain yesterday, although it remained cloudy all day. Today a bit of drizzle is forecast.
I am meeting my friend from Oz for lunch as planned and I expected it to be just the two of us but her DH and sons want to join us too, though she says they will leave us to have a good old natter and much reminiscing after eating.. Table booked in readiness.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. NAN have a lovely time away and ROSY I too was seething thinking of the nasty jobsworth on the bus. I hope he gets his just desserts one day when he picks on the wrong person! Take care all and be safe xx

Hi all
TA have a lovely time
Izzy happy new bathroom
I missed yesterday as I was working a long day ans out of the door before 7am. Added to that Barney-dog had me up at 5am - I’ve stopped his anti inflammatory medicine as it seems to make him nauseous. Will give him a few days off and see how the legs are!I have a blood test today - just for a NHS health check which is next week. Will then pop and check my best friends parents grave - she lives 350 miles away so I said I’d keep it clean and tidy but must admit I haven’t been for a few months.Other than that lots of pot moving for the builder starting Tuesday and some floor steaming and craft work.Enjoy your Friday and long weekend

Morning All
Dull and drizzly at the moment, could go either way. Yesterday it rained most of the day so everywhere is swamped again. I'm sure I can see the grass growing!
Have a good time Nanny, you deserve some pampering.
Well done on the decorating Scarlet.
That's a big upheaval Izzy, hope it goes to plan.
Pleased to hear your cough is getting better Gers.
I'm off today, a friend and I are going to Portpatrick for the night, really looking forward to it.
Hope everyone is well, take care. XX10 -
Morning all.
The sun's currently shining here but there's no warmth. I actually switched the electric blanket on for a few minutes last night it felt so chilly. I need to check the weather forecast as we're continuing the Northamptonshire walking route with our friends today, followed by a pub lunch.
Managed to make some little cakes for the grandchildren yesterday. I've run out of normal cake cases so am using up some union jack ones from the Coronation but they are so small! Have been trying to get my eating back on a better basis so cutting out the snacks and it showed on the scales this morning. I'd like to keep going now, mainly on a low carb basis, and see if I can shift another stone.
Have a good day everyone.11 -
Morning everyone
It rained most of yesterday and is still drizzling this morning. We seems to be forecast showers for the next week.
My paving stones were jet washed yesterday and look so clean now - it looks so much better.
Last day at work today half term next week. I'm looking forward to it.
I'll go down to mam and dads this morning, dad likes his banking done on a Friday.
Better get on, hope you all have a good day x8 -
Morning all, thanks Scarlet, you are good to keep your visits to your old friend, I'm sure she appreciates it.Enjoy your lunch TA & nonstop natteringCamelot & Nan, enjoy your break away.WL, well done on the weight loss.I've followed a low carb diet for over 2 years now so it's become a way of life.I'm another who was cold yesterday, we are down to 9 deg here. After watching DGS football match last night in torrential constant rain everyone was absolutely freezing .I ran a bath once home so I could warm up! It's usually a quick shower so it felt luxurious
Currently have 3 rain jackets festooned around drying off.
Sounds like a busy day AAIzzy, sounds messy!Gers good to hear your cough is going.Taff, shame your extension plans are being compromised. As a builders wife I know how much the raw materials have absolutely sky rocketed in the last year or 2Not much on today, not even a school pickup as DS will do it, and the school charity 'colour run' has been postponed until the end of June due to the wet weather and very soggy playing field.A choice of either sausages or ham shanks( a cheat meal from marks but very scrummy!) for tea tonight.I shall ring my old neighbour at some point today too. Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9 -
Morning all, we're off for our break later this afternoon and I have a bit of tidying etc to do today before we go. Our case is packed and I've stripped the bed, not going to wash the bedding though as the weather is cold and overcast with possible rain so it will just have to wait, I'll remake the bed though so it's ready to get into when we're back. I might have to put the heating on when we shower, it's so cold and nearly June for goodness sake.
Gers good to hear that your cough is abating.
Camelot enjoy your night away.
TA enjoy your lunch with the family from Oz.
Rosy how rude was that bus inspector. Enjoy a quiet day today.
Izzy I'm envious of your new bathroom, hope there's not too much mess and upheaval.
dp1 enjoy your week off.
WL hope it stays dry for your walk.
AA hope the blood test goes ok.
Right I'd better get on, things won't do themselves unfortunately. See you after my hols.
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently10 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
Glad your cough has improved @Gers x
Happy time away @nannywindow x
Enjoy the meet up @TravellingAbuela x
I am interviewing this morning. We saw 3 candidates yesterday and are seeing another 3 today. The role is a band lower than me and encompasses a chunk of work I was promised on the job description for my role. When I started here they'd stripped that out and given the role to someone else, who has since left....
DH and I are out tomorrow in London on a tour of a disused underground station - birthday gift to DH which we are finally going to use. We plan to go for lunch afterwards and have a really good discussion about our future plans. Can we take part-retirement now by down sizing? I think so, but need to work through the figures and our expectations.
We saw IF last night - well we left after about 45 minutes. Think the writer/director called in favours from his Hollywood mates to get that one made tbh. Very disappointing.
Dinner is spaghetti and meatballs mmmmmm
Have a good day all,
