Problem with Etoro not paying out following my husband's death

My husband had money invested with Etoro and the account was in his name only. Last November I contacted Etoro to inform them of his death. They gave me a list of all the documents I needed to provide before they would transfer the balance of his account to me. At first they were good at communicating and replied to my emails and returned my calls. However, since I submitted the Letter of Probate to them in March I have heard very little from them. They are not returning my calls or replying to emails. The last time they contacted me was 2 weeks ago to tell me I needed to submit an up to date bank statement as the one I'd sent previously is now more than 3 months old. Has anyone else experience difficulties dealing with this company?

If it was within three months when you actually sent it to them, their slowness is not your problem. But it could be quicker to send them a new one than persuade them they don't need it.

You can make a formal complaint to eToro and if they do not resolve the complaint in eight weeks, you can take it to the Financial Ombudsman.
