A petition calling for every Jobcentre to have at least one Private Room available so that vulnerable claimants can discuss their benefits in confidence.
(In my opinion it's shameful that only 30% of Jobcentres currently do have one available).
That would obviously help vulnerable claimants, victims of abuse/trauma, those with MH issues, etc. claim what they are entitled to without risking their personal, often very sensitive, details being overheard in an Open Plan Jobcentre.

Not the forum for such post, although I agree in principle.

    Respectfully I disagree.
I had considered that point before posting, and the stated aim of this forum, as given in the sticky title -
"It's about helping people get their entitlement!"
The private rooms measure proposed, if adopted, will certainly achieve that help for vulnerable claimants.

@Newcad dont get me wrong, I totally agree that there should be such provision.  But in its simplest form you are not asking a question, or seeking support for a specific problem.  Hence it goes against the form rules (IMO)

    Thank you MSE_ForumTeam5.
Whilst I believe that my post did not break the posting rules on the Benefits forum (and in my personal opinion was more relevant there, as that's where the Jobcentre users will be) I do understand why it has been moved.

Well it's accademic now, all current petitions are being closed (basically abandoned) due to the General Election.
