General Portfolio/Gan/Windsor Life?/ Reassure

Hi everyone.
I had a pension with the above. The pension has gone AWOL. I contacted Reassure (the irony of that name!!) with a policy no. and they stated that they did not have the documents as GAN didnt give Windsor Life/Reassure all of them. However, Windsor Life did assign me a policy to compensate me for mis selling of my pension by General Portfolio. This would imply that they do have details of the original policy somewhere. Can any one advise about the best way to get this policy back? Thanks in advance.
