Solar panel advice

Considering solar panels as we are doing double storey extension which have scaffolding.

Have got an estimate from Joju but it seems rather expensive:

System Specification
17 x Aiko 465W N-Type ABC, 54 Cell, Black Frame, Gen 2
Solis S6 6.0kW 2MPPT Inverter 1PH
On-roof mounting system
Peripherals included
Scaffolding Not Included
Immersion Controls: No
Bird Protection: No
Export Limitation Meter: No
£9,460

Battery is another £8,5k

Panels would go on pitched roof facing SW and SE in West Midlands, no shade, annual consumption 3kWh
No one has ever become poor by giving

That's just not good value no matter how you slice it! Here's a great example of a superior quote I've seen just last week from installers I use:

    17 X Sharp 425W black panels (25/30 year guarantee)
    17 X SolarEdge optimizers (25 year warranty)
      1 X SolarEdge 8kW inverter (20 year warranty)

~£8K installed. Bird netting & G99 included. Larger more capable inverter, optimization, longer warranties and much better component brand reputations.

I'd recommend squeezing in a few more panels if the surveyor shares they will fit on your aspects. I don't believe you need a battery with low annual consumption of 3000 kWh but if you insist, you can have a GivEnergy All in One installed for £6.5K, which will allow access to the lucrative Intelligent Flux tariff.

    You can do way better!
    -  10 x 400w LG Bifacial + 6 x 550W SHARP BiFacial + 2 570W SHARP Bifacial + 5kW SolarEdge Inverter + SolarEdge Optimizers. SE London.

    -  Triple aspect. (33% ENE.33% SSE. 34% WSW)

    -  Viessmann 200-W on Advanced Weather Comp. (The most efficient gas boiler sold)

Feel free to DM me for help with any form of energy saving! Happy to help!

I use 4 across the UK now, in what I can only describe as a pro bono cause to help others embrace quality renewables at lower prices. (Not charging a commission helps!) The installer I recommend depends on requirements like budget/ brands required/ location etc. Each is unique but what in universal is their obligation to deliver a great result for the end user.

I've saved thousands over my half decade on MSE forums, so if I can help give back to the community, I view it as a great privilege. Feel free to DM me if I can help!
