Thank you Lady. It's hard when it's just you isn't it! Just to reassure you, I'm not splashing out on 'loads of new furniture'. In terms of brand new furniture I've bought a bedframe (hopefully the faulty part will get sorted with the company soonish!) and a mattress, and that's it. I have all the appliances I need already, a sofa, bookcases, chest of drawers, kitchen table and chairs, wardrobe - all either left for free by previous owners or purchased off them for a very good price. Saving up for other bits gradually is exactly what I plan to do, because I've got all the basics already - once the bed can be assembled!
