Yesterday was lovely, I went out to the Book Club without a coat!
Sorry to hear you've had a fall Gers, hope you're feeling better. I'm going to Darlington today, to the hospital for a gastroscopy. I usually go to the hospital at Durham for this, every two years, but they're trying a less invasive way of doing it, and this is happening at Darlington.
Saltburn is lovely isn't it. Hope the funeral goes as well as these occasions can.
Ruby, glad to read you're feeling better, it's been a bad go of Covid.
Hope everyone is ok, take care folks.

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, hope your appointment goes well.
Sorry you had a trip up Gers, hope you're not too sore.
Raining here and looks to be set in for the day - someone stole the sunshine! It's still warm though so one of those days where a raincoat is too sweaty!
I went for a swim after work, I really need to go more often but the pool doesn't open until 6 and once I get home I don't want to go out again. I didn't bother going to the allotment as the rain will water everything.
Meeting a friend after work today to go for something to eat and a good chat, she should be coming back to work in a week or so after a knee replacement although I don't think she really wants to come back at all. After a monumental mess up by management she will be back part time after the summer holidays.
Hope you are all well (and the poorlies getting better), take care. XX8 -
Morning allPouring with rain and not due to stop until at least midday so I think it's a good day to sort out my wardrobe. I will be fearless! Lots of work clothes to put into piles of throwing out or charity shop etc and be positive and get my summer clothes out of their vacuum bags. That should keep me out of mischief for a few hours anway.
Hope you all have as good a day as you can x8 -
Morning all. Thanks for starting us off @Scarlet. I hope goes well for you today. My bruised hip is sore and beginning to colour up, my dignity is rather battered too.My drive down was surprisingly lovely and easy, no hold ups and only one stop. The service today is in Kirkleatham so not go far away. The morning is bright and sunny, perhaps it'll stay that way.Hugs to our poorlies.10

Thanks for the start Scarlet.
Gers - take care, hope things go well.Been awake since 530am, and as I was already tired I’m feeling weary 😩
Working again until 330pm and will try and do craft work for an hour or so later too after dog walking and sorting dinner x this time of year is always busy and I’m already feeling a bit overwhelmed. Have postponed two outings with friends which I don’t like doing, they were on my only non-work days and I just felt like I’d need some downtime.Anyway, it’s stopped raining so gotta find some positives!Take care all

Morning everyone GERS I hope today goes as well as these things can and hopefully you won’t feel as sore Scarlet hope it’s a better day for you today and things are easier . I’m off out to do a cleaning job in a minute it’s still warm but I will need to take a coat or I’m going to get wet . TAFF I must admit I’m finding it a struggle I spend a lot of my time pacing around muttering to myself try to rest make the most of it learn how to do nothing and not trying to kill the hubby I spend a lot of the time looking at the back of his head while he’s watching the television or doing a jigsaw and him telling me I don’t know how to relax I’ve got to get my head round it before the winter or I will be bonkers I’m looking for things to do all the time. I’m getting my eyebrows done today they always look to dark the first couple of days then I get used to them must dash. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Morning all
Its been raining all night but meant to stop mid morning and then the sun is due back, I hope so I feel so much better this morning almost back to normal just a bit congested now.
I have three people coming today and I’m not sure what they want to do we can decide when they get here I suspect it will involve walking as they all seem to love that and we always get a cuppa at the end.
Dinner tonight will be a burger in a bun with a few chips, and I have put a wash on this morning.DD went to the chemist yesterday and showed them photos of OH back which looks really sore and angry and they conformed shingles, they phoned his GP and got him to send over a script for anti -virals which he is now on, hopefully they will kick in soon as he is in a lot of pain with it and finds is uncomfortable to sit down and can’t lay on his back poor thing.
Gers hope today goes well xx
Scarlet good luck with the appointment xxx
Have good days all and take care xx7 -

Morning all, well the sun was lovely while it lasted, but it poured down through the night and still at it this morning. Yesterday we went to see our best friends as it was his birthday. Their son was there- he made us a lovely 'proper' coffee and regaled us with some funny tales. We haven't seen him for ages, he was the one that was in a band & we used to go and watch them all the time, but it's a year since they did anything. The lead singer is now Dad to 2 children, the others are in relationships so something had to give. Anyway it was lovely to see him & his Mum & Dad. They've been having a big job done at home so we hadn't been for a while so they were pleased to see us.My DB called in the afternoon, and then we picked up DGS. Apparently they are having a lesson on debt awareness today so we were chatting about it - he's 10, but seems pretty canny. He was working out how much tax he'd have to pay on the money he sometimes gets in exchange for chores, he usually saves it for something big, unlike DGD ! He was quite relieved when we told him he wouldn't pay tax yet
I suppose it's good to know about these things when you're young.
DS was out last night so we had chicken kyivs, green veg, and DH had mash. Tonight will be a freezer job.Good luck with the appointment today Scarlet.Hope the funeral goes as well as it can Gers & your hip is feeling a bit better.Izzy, when your days have been as busy as yours were pre -retirement it's bound to feel strange.RR hope you are on the mend now, and anyone else.Camelot, you're making me feel guilty - I haven't been swimming for ages!Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning all and thanks for the start @ScarletRibbons x
Raining here this morning but set to dry up this afternoon - cooler too. I will run home later – it helps my back issue and does wonders for my MH (plus I usually beat the bus!!). Dinner tonight is chilli con carne courtesy of DH. We had a lovely couscous and hot smoked salmon salad last night. I also threw in some feta and chickpeas. Very tasty and lovely colour and texture too.
DH just back from the DS1s stag weekend. No job news yet – he’s applying but either getting rejections or radio silence L
Sorry to hear about OH’s shingles @RedRuby1231 – sounds very painful x
We are considering semi-retirement @IzzyBee and I’m wondering if I too will be driven mad by the boredom!!
Sorry to hear of your tumble @Gers. Hope today goes as well as it can do x

Morning everyone
We were lucky yesterday, it was lovely and sunny all day again yesterday, after the mist lifted. Forecast for some drizzle later this afternoon, hopefully it will be wrong.
Quiet afternoon at work yesterday as there seems to be a tummy bug going round and we had a few off - hoping it misses me out!
DD had to take little one over to our local hospital on Saturday night. She'd been fine all day but had started screaming when she was trying to eat her tea, DD looked and she had a big abscess. She rang 111 who said they'd ring back within 12 hours! Went over to minor injuries and saw a nurse who said it looked like she needed a filling so they couldn't do anything. She was booked in to get a filling on Thursday so DD said she just needed antibiotics for the abscess. No it was dental not medical....By this time little one had been screaming so loudly that a doctor came and said straight away that yes technically it was dental but he wasn't going to leave a child in pain and prescribed antibiotics. Common sense prevailed though it must be difficult when they have to stick to the rules.
DD took her to the dentist yesterday, the abscess has gone already though she needs 2 back teeth out. That will be done in hospital under anaesthetic - the dentist said hopefully before Christmas! I didn't know until a few weeks ago that being born prematurely and then spending time in an incubator can have a huge impact on a baby's teeth. As if she, and DD, haven't got enough to deal with.
Can't remember if I said eldest DD is now in Hong Kong - she had a great weekend exploring and then a busy day in the office all day yesterday and will be working again for most of today, but is hoping to get time to visit museums as well. She flies back to Germany tomorrow....and then goes to Corfu on Friday!
Anyways I'm waffling so I'll go and get my jobs done before work. Hope everyone has a good day x
