Estate Agent MA/independent broker dilemma

I recently engaged an estate agent who offered mortgage advisor as part of service package.
Being a first-time seller, I subsequently spoken with them, shared details and they have sent through an AIP.
I communicated about the AIP and % charged to the mortgage broker I have used for a number of years as my Dad advised me to get a second opinion and have now caused upset with broker that I have taken external advice. Broker still offering to advise but I am now feeling confused and feel a little foolish for not thinking ahead to the fact that I could have refused estate agent MA from the get go.
Can I keep engaging with my independent broker and step back from estate agent advice even though they have sorted an initial AIP.
Any advice gratefully recieved

I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.2 -

Do I let my estate agent MA know that I have sought independent advice?0 -
They cant force you to stick with them once they have obtained an AIP. However some brokers might charge once they have obtained an AIP... It does not sound like that one does so you should be ok.
I say this as a broker, we do not win every person we speak to. Thats life. He/she is a big boy/girl. They will get over it.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. OP, the estate agents wouldn't submit my offer until I'd had the meeting with their mortgage advisor even though I explained I had already organised a mortgage broker and showed them my AIP. I felt terrible cancelling the estate agents mortgage broker (she was really nice) but the AIP was not as good as the mortgage broker I chose and she(/the company she worked for) charged a bigger fee. I also cancelled the estate agents conveyancer which I originally agreed to use when I found out that 'in-house' didn't actually mean local person but again, a big company based miles away. It all felt very hard sell and I did well not to come away with a will and several types of insurances. The estate agent was miffed, but neither the mortgage advisor or conveyancer seemed to care much.Debt Free: 01/01/2020
