Hi there
Due to my husband having a pay rise, we are in the position where we need to file a self assessment form to pay back child benefit this year as a one off.
His p60 says his income was £58000 but that hasn’t taken into account his work pension where he has paid at least £5000.

Where would we put the pension on his return please? 🤔

What tax regime is used for his pension deductions - salary sacrifice / net pay or relief at source ?Does he get an additional 25% added to his pension account ?How does that P60 pay figure compare to his gross pay on his final pay slip of the year ?If deducted under the first two methods then he does not declare his pension as they are already factored into his taxable pay figure. If he does need to complete that section it is under "Tax reliefs - Paying into registered pension schemes ......"A good post on the subject here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6527314/help-me-work-out-cb-tax/p1

You can't claim tax relief on SA if it has already been claimed by the pension fund
