100 Posts Second Anniversary Name Dropper

    morning!

Just having an early lunch (honestly I am constantly hungry but can’t manage a full portion of anything, feel I’m constantly grazing…) so thought I’d do an update. Apparently I passed by 2 yr anniversary on the 8th May. Had a look back at my post from last year and it wasn’t overly positive…

Feeling more positive today. Despite saying on my last post that I didn’t think I’d get under £20,000 by June, it is seeming more likely. Count up today puts my debt standing at £20,678, I should be able to get under £20k by the end of the month. I think I underestimated how much paying the house insurance bill etc last month set me back.

Compared to the last two anniversary’s:

I didn’t say last year what my debt total was just that it had gone up from the start as I was quite ashamed. Looking in my own records it was £22,311, so was still not at the highest but it’s good be able to see that I’m about 1,500 less today!

From the start it’s sadly still above, when I started I had about £14.5k debt. I’m still above this but it would be amazing to hope I could get near to this before my maternity pay turns to a pittance!

Which reminds me that I need to chase HR for my mat pay calculations, I did my own through the government website and essentially from September my pays down to £832 per month before tax, ni etc (I’m guessing pension as well). I’m guessing that even though adding my salary so far and then those payments together I’ll only about 2 grand over the personal allowance for the year that they’ll still tax me as if I wouldn’t have already over paid? God it’s confusing!! Anyway, I’m taking a months holiday from the end of the second week of June before starting maternity leave so no long at work.

So I need to do myself a new budget for after August.

    August 2025 total debt: £28,741
    February 2026 total debt: £24,335
    March 2026 total debt: £22,651
    Cleared 21.1%

Aim to be below £20,000 by 1st June 2026
