HMRC chat to an advisor online

Just wondering if anyone has managed to chat to an HMRC advisor online lately?

 I have found it a really useful service in the past but lately there have not been any advisors present.  Just wondering if there is a better time of day to try it?

First thing in the morning, or just after lunch I usually find the best time.

Both my husband and I used the HMRC webchat today ( Ask HMRC online link in original post) to get our 18 digit reference number. Just say you want your 18 digit reference number to pay voluntary National Insurance contributions then Clicked on Ask for an Advisor in the reply. We got straight through to someone both times. Took no time at all, this was between 3 and 3.30pm.
