Employers or hmrc

Someone please advise .

My employers have made a mistake by informing hmrc I recived £1300 instead of £500 as a result universal deducted me of £400 .
 How do I get this refunded?

    I would say the starting point would be for your employer to file a corrected Real Time Information submission.

    Hopefully one of the benefits experts will be able to explain what happens from a UC perspective.
