Hi,
Question about AR markers.
Question about AR markers.
I understand that these stay on credit file for 6 years from when the account is settled, however does their impact lessen over time? For example….
3 AR markers on account due to a 3 month money issue. Account brought back up to date and account out of AR but markers still showing in payment history.

Will the impact of these markers lessen in one, two years etc, or does their impact remain consistent until they’re removed?

Their impact will diminish over time, just the same as any negative marker. Even more so if they're superseded by lots of positive markers. But each lender will have different scoring criteria, and will apply different weightings to an individual data point. But yes, in general any negative marker will have less of an impact as time goes on.0
