Mortgage on a static caravan?

A friend lives in a rental property and wants to buy and live in a static caravan on a proper residential site. 
Do lenders do mortgages for this?

    Wouldn't be a mortgage in the normal sense but you could get finance packages

    Not a mortgage because they are an asset that decreases in value. A loan may be possible.
